Although Esslingen does not offer the same kind of bustle and liveliness of larger cities such as Berlin or München, it does have its own charms, and there are some cozy pubs and bars where you can go to enjoy a beer and relax with friends. There are also a few discos and nightclubs in the area for those who like music and dancing, and there are plenty of parties regularly held by the students of the Fachhochschule (you only need to look around at the postings on the walls of the school). Each semester the students of the FH organize the WI-Fest party, a large all-night music and dancing get-together, which is held in the hilltop campus.
