(1981-1987). Worked in the field of control of electrical drives (AC-machines, power inverters,
switched-mode-power-supplies) and use of microcontrollers in control engineering. Research activities with respect to
digital control of drives and power circuits and EMC of power electronic circuits.
Robert Bosch GmbH, Diesel Injection Systems Division (1987-1993). Manager for the development of diesel engine
managment control units. With my 60 fellow engineers I was responsible for the hardware and software development and
for production support of EDC-ECUs for passenger and truck applications (EDC Electronic Diesel Control).
Professor for control engineering, digital systems and computer architecture at the University of Applied Sciences
Esslingen, Germany (since 1993). Deputy head of the Department of Information Technology (1995-1998). Member of the
university board (2000-2009).

More than 40 publications and some 30 patents and patent applications.
Awards for scientific work by German Society of Electrical Engineers (VDE) and Society of Friends of the University of
Stuttgart. Award of the German Literature Society.
